Gurugram-headquartered Smart World, known for its luxury gated communities on Golf Course Extension Road, has quietly staked its claim in Pune with a new pre-launch residential project in Wakad. Smart World is all set to deliver benchmark residential projects in Gurgaon, Pune, and Mumbai, and the Wakad address marks the developer's first visible move into Pune's western IT corridor, a market that has been dominated so far by home-grown and national players.
Wakad sits at the doorstep of Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in neighbouring Hinjewadi, which remains the engine of housing demand in this part of the city. Analysts see this as part of a bigger structural shift: Pune's growth in 2026 is being driven by the convergence of established IT-corridor demand, infrastructure-led demand from the Metro and Ring Road, and a maturing premium segment drawing national developer attention.
For a Pune homebuyer, Smart World's entry is a signal worth watching rather than an immediate call to book. Pre-launch pricing typically undercuts later phases, but with RERA approval still pending, buyers should wait for the official registration number, verified floor plans, and a firm possession timeline before committing funds.
